If by Tablet you mean Tablet PC, it is a variant of a laptop. It, too, is a fully portable computer. They’re made smaller and lighter to be a very mobile device. They also have special screens that allow you to “write” on them in digital ink and to control all functions of the computer with a pen in the same way you use a mouse on regular computers.

Some look just like laptops with screen & keyboard, but the screen can spin around and be laid down over the keyboard with the screen facing out. Some come with no keyboard at all (called a Slate Tablet PC) and are meant to be operated mainly by pen.

A notepad could be another name for a very small, light laptop or is sometimes used for specialty devices that are more like a large PDA, running limited but specialized software that may or may not be fully compatible with Windows.

Laptops and some Tablet PC’s can be found in most electronics department stores and computer stores or on Amazon online store. Notepad’s and Slate Tablet PC’s are more specialized and generally need to be ordered from the manufacturer.
