Im thinking of buying an iphone, and one of the questions i have aboot it is if i have wi-fi in my house, can i access the internet with it? and second question is can i use an iphone with verizon if i “unlock” it? I know these questions sound really dumb, but im just now contemplating the phone and internet tablet in one concept.

So I am currently waiting for the open source Google Android based tablets. I just love the idea of iPad and portable tablet device, but hate the idea of not being open to public. They are arrogant and try to control the users with their iPhone products. Unless you jailbreak your device, you cannot enjoy the application freely.Android is open source OS developed by Google. Many smart phones and Internet tablet device vendors are adopting Android rapidly. Isn’t Android just great or what?Some android tablets are already on the market (such as Archos 5 and Archos 7) already. But many major computer manufacturers are planning to release Android tablets by the end of 2010. Also price wise, Apple iPad is about $500 and you would still need to spend extra money to use some of their services. But Android based devices are expected to be around $200 ~ $300 . Also They will support the micro SD which the device function that everybody wants. Then who would want expensive Apple products? I personally foresee that the iPhone will become more like the Macintosh and Android will become like the Microsoft Windows in the past. I just can’t wait! My iPad mounted in kitchen cabinet. Additional info at www.technolog.ie Sound is output to aux input of mini stereo (until I replace that with powered speakers). This is just the beginning for this great device! More pics at http The iPad is easily removeable (without unscrewing) – the wooden slat holding it in place is just tight enough to hold it snug. No power supply fitted yet (because battery power very good) but that is coming soon – just need to get the dremel out again. Some people have commented about the hole left in the cabinet when I remove the iPad, I have an 8×10 photo (NOT of an iPad!) glued to a piece of wood that slots into the holder on the back of the cabinet door. I bought a replacement door (which happened to be on sale) before cutting the original, in case it all went pear shaped (no pun intended!), so at any time I can abandon the idea and restore the kitchen back to the way it was. Future developments: – Install power source for iPad. – Use Apple remote App on the iPad to stream all my music from iMac to stereo via Airport express (when Apple get around to updating their Remote App to work in landscape mode!) – Radio streaming App. – EyeTv for live TV. Coverflow for browsing music would be nice – a curious omission from Apple. Bluetooth headset for Skype calls – anybody know a headset that will pair with the iPad, my Motorola won’t. – Self powered speakers to bypass stereo altogether; a commenter suggested ceiling speakers – nice!

Flying under the radar in Tuesday’s desktop Mac revisions is a neat little peripheral that has the potential to hasten the demise of the trusty notebook computer – the Magic Trackpad ($69). Sure, it’s just a Bluetooth trackpad, and yes, they’ve been around for a while, but the Magic Trackpad is different.

(Curiously, even though Faber-Castell Corporation let its 1965 trademark of the term “MAGIC-PAD” expire in 2007, Apple took a pass on the name.)

For starters, it shares the minimalist good looks of Apple’s wireless keyboard, matching its pitch and depth so that the two align perfectly when next to each other. Also, because it’s from Apple, the drivers are (now) built-into Mac OS X, so there’s no funky configuration or third-party weirdness or incompatibility to deal with.

The potentially killer feature though is that the Magic Trackpad could turn the iPad into an almost fully-functional notebook replacement for many users. The first barrier to fall was the physical keyboard. When Apple added Bluetooth keyboard support to iOS 4.0 the iPad became viable for long-form writing not previously possible with a virtual keyboard. The second barrier (yet to fall) is that switching from using the keyboard to tapping on the iPad screen is uncomfortable and not very ergonomic. Anyone who’s tried this configuration knows what I mean.

Sure, you can jailbreak the iPad and use a mouse, but that’s a kludge – not to mention, unsupported and potentially warranty voiding.

Unfortunately, the Magic TrackPad doesn’t work with the iPhone or iPad — yet — according to Gearlog, so we’ll all have to collectively grovel Apple to add such a feature. But with Bluetooth keyboard support now available iOS 4, there’s hope yet.

Okay, first of all, what category would this best go in? Also, I really want to know what a spiral tablet is, because I have no idea what it is! Is it like a notebook or something? I need one for my science class, and I’m drawing a straight line whenever it comes to this!!! Can anyone help me with this?
